Art and Culture Events
Submit an event for consideration
in our calendar
Our focus is Native American
Fine Art.
If you have a Native American Fine Arts
and Culture event you'd like us to consider for inclusion
in the calendar, please fill out the following form. Please
keep in mind the following considerations:
- Your event should have a significant fine-arts component.
Specifically, we prefer juried art shows or or events that
feature museum-quality fine arts. Contemporary arts, traditional
arts and demonstrations are all good and taken into consideration.
- Event should have artists present. We prefer interactive
markets where the artist is present as opposed to exhibitions
where the artist is not present. We will make exceptions
in some cases (particularly if it is an exhibition featuring
a Native Art Network member artist), but as a general rule
- artists should be present.
- The event should have Native American Artist participation
and their artwork should have Native American cultural significance.
It doesn't have to be traditional art, but it should tie
in with the Artists' Native heritage in a meaningful way.
- There should be multiple artists involved.
- The event should be open to the public. Events with admission
fees are okay. Both non-profit and commercial (for-profit) events are okay.
- Artwork should not be culturally inappropriate or trivialize
Native Culture (e.g. depict sacred symbols, like kachinas,
that are outside of the artists culture, rubber tomahawks,
colored chicken feather headresses, "war paint",
etc). Artists that are connected to their culture and depict
their symbols in a respectful/appropriate way are okay.
