The Northern Plains Indian Arts Market is the largest art market devoted to artwork from the Northern Plains tribes. This year's event includes Cultural Activities, Pow Wow and Juried Art Show.

Sponsored by Sinte Gleska University on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, the Northern Plains Indian Art Market celebrates the life ways of the indigenous people of the Northern Plains. Sinte Gleska University is committed to an educational direction and philosophy that both promotes and preserves our Lakol Wicohan (traditional way of life) in order to provide Northern Plains artists an opportunity for artistic, educational, cultural, and economic growth.

The Twenty-First Annual Northern Plains Indian Art Market 2008 offers more than $13,000 in prize money. This prize money includes Best of Tribal Arts and Best of Fine Arts pieces from Northern and Canadian Plains tribes.

The Juried Art Show Preview and Artist Reception takes place Friday, 7:00pm at the Old Courthouse Museum. The traditional Wacipi (Powwow) will be Saturday, 7:00pm - 12:00am at the Sioux Falls Multicultural Center.
