One of Southern Arizona’s Premier Indian Art Shows and Markets, the Southwest Indian Art Fair (SWIAF) has featured arts, crafts, performances, demonstrations and other cultural experiences to thousands of visitors each year for 16 years. Until now, SWIAF has been held at Arizona State Museum, on the University of Arizona campus, but this year SWIAF will be held indoors at Desert Diamond Casino’s beautiful Pima Mine Road location, just minutes south of Tucson on I-19 (1100 W. Pima Mine Rd.)
The Southwest Indian Art Fair has been a staple of Tucson’s vibrant event calendar since 1993, each year bringing more than 200 Native American artists from around the region to sell their authentic hand-made wares on the museum’s expansive front lawn. Serious collectors, casual buyers, and first-time visitors alike find much to experience, learn and enjoy.
In 2010, Arizona State Museums' advisory board and staff have partnered with the Southern Arizona Arts & cultural Alliance (SAACA) to produce the 2010 Southwest Indian Art Fair Benefit; proceeds of which will go toward strengthening the program for 2011. SAACA exists to ensure that the arts are sustained in our community and is delighted to be able to help this longstanding tradition.
